Yes, Ron Paul Is Still Running For President.

I was even confused about it too. But the post over at The Invisible Opportunity tells me it is true. There is hope for America yet! They also let you know about his new book and where you can watch him talk about it on tv. It looks like a great read!

Falling into place.

It’s funny how things you’ve been wanting, find you. It happens to me a lot. When I think about something I want, be it a material or non-material thing, somehow things just fall into place.

My Mother used to live a block away from me. She had to move because of work and I have been missing being able to pop over and visit. Some week-ends we’d haul out all our crafts and things we had gathered from the bush we used to frequent, and do crafts for the day.

Tonight, a woman I know came by and gave me a hand-made sun-catcher her mother had made while she was in Florida. It is so cute! She had told me her Mother (who I don’t know) goes to a craft group while they spend the winters in Florida and they try to come up with a new idea every week. I had given her a large bag of beads (that I had way too many of) to give to her earlier this year. So I was gifted in return. When I’m not so tired, I’ll post a photo of it.

When we got home today, we decided to tackle some more things outside. Mulch on the garden, burning some old trees we had to cut down last year…one thing led to something else and we ended up working much later than we had intended. We put off dinner until nine! I’ll never get to sleep now! I’m usually pretty tired when I get home and it doesn’t allow me much time to visit with many people. But I find when you are outdoors, people you haven’t seen in ages seem to come by now and then. They see you out and chat a while. Time just seems to fly by!

Back to my story. While we were talking about all the things her Mother had made this year, she said that I should just go over and have a look at everything. I told her about how much I missed doing crafts with my Mother. Her mother has a large craft room with tables and she finds it hard to get out and about at her age and she had no-one to do crafts with in town. By the time our conversation had ended we decided to start a mini craft-club and try to get together at her Mothers house every few weeks with a new challenge.

It will be nice to have a girls night out. And to learn new things. Maybe she can teach me how to knit a pattern. I’m okay when it’s plain k&p but add a pattern and I seriously end up with something that looks like I made it when I had a few drinks too many. My triangle afghan is just lovely. (I really meant to make a shawl….honest!) :) I can make a wicked scarf though! LOL!

That’s it for tonight.

What a Beautiful Day!

I promised myself I wouldn’t go on-line this week-end because I have too much to do around the house and yard now that the weather is nice. What a beautiful day! But you know how it is…you end up walking by the computer and just HAVE to check your blog. Just to see…

I had a message in my “about” section (that I have to change yet again) from Baikong that I had been tagged for a 20 questions meme. Here is her list. She also has a photo blog. The photo’s are breath taking. You should stop by and see for yourself. And thank you for including me Baikong!

I also wanted to thank Will from the Will Rhodes Portmanteau for helping me over the months with my blog. Any time I have had a problem he has taken the time to get it straightened out. And that’s no easy feat! Because I’m not “in the know” when it comes to website jargon I don’t always know how to explain my problem! So, thanks Will. Pop over and check out his site. It’s my usual hang out. (As much as I try escaping politics. LOL)

To all the Mothers out there: Have a great Mothers Day! My Mother has to work but I was able to visit her a few days ago. I wish we could see each other more. She’s one person I have so much in common with. And with my interests, it’s hard to find. Okay, she hates politics….but the rest we’re on the same wave length. :) I love you MOM!

Take care everyone and I’ll post my meme later tonight.

Mudslide Continued…

Now for the rest of the story. I will be posting a more detailed one on my private page for a few people. (Those people probably know who they are already) Not to be rude but there are certain things at this time that have to remain private.  This version is being done out of respect to the family. So don’t feel slighted that I am not able to share. I would like to though.

I met “Mudslide” while walking down the lane way to get to a memorial site of a wonderful person who would have turned 25 that day, but was killed in a motor-vehicle accident last year. His parents had a 16 foot Inukshuk erected on their property as a place to go to honor and remember him. They surrounded it in large stones to sit on and a garden will be planted this summer. I know he would have loved it. (I know he does love it!) He was such a gifted person. So full of life. The kind of person you meet and like instantly. I know he had a brilliant career ahead of him. I wish I could share more about him with you.

If you would like to see 2 photo’s of the Inukshuk you can go to my photo blog here.

RIP ((((You)))) are missed.

I fell in love with his eyes…

and his bushy mane. LOL

I had the pleasure of meeting “Mudslide” a few weeks ago. The story of our meeting is a long sad one actually, but today I’ll focus on the good part. A bunch of us were walking down a lane to get to the photo I will put up in the next few days. And this miniature horse followed me the whole time. If I stopped, he did. I walked, he did. I don’t know much about horses, maybe he thought I had food.  But I’ll just continue to believe we made a “connection” because it makes me happy. :)

He is the most adorable little thing ever, with those huge eyes, and fluffy mane. I didn’t want to leave.

I posted 2 pictures over at my photo blog. One of him, and another of the both of us. I might be going back to see him in a few months. I can’t wait!

You can see them here. Just click the white arrow below the first photo to get to the other one.
