Getting Crafty and Creative

Mom and I have slowing been setting up a small work area in the back porch. It is nowhere near done. We are pretty excited about it!

I have been busy sorting and organizing all my tools. I do this about 2 times a year because my husband never puts anything back. Everything gets put in bins and then I have the chore of putting it all back. This time will be the last, I have put my foot down! We’ll see if it works. ;)

You can see most are still missing pieces:

She made this picture frame a while ago. I love how it turned out. Mom loves nature crafts. (I took that picture of my nephew around 14 years ago. It’s one of my favorites. We took him to the zoo for the first time and he loved seeing all the animals.) Back to the frame:

Another thing we have been doing is trying to make use of all my old picture frames. I have so many and need to make use of them. We have plenty of paintings that could go into some. Mom decided to put her mini purses inside one:

I painted a plain old white one and put in a painting by my husbands great Aunt:

I made up a few of the tree branch garden markers and will post them soon. We should be finished the work room in a few weeks. Next year we will paint and make some changes. We just couldn’t be bothered this year.

Happy crafting to everyone!

Nature Crafts

I have been clearing out our back lots this summer and thought it would be nice to re-use some of the trees and branches.

There are some great ideas out there! Here are just a few I found:

These Twig Garden Markers posted at Ciao Bella will make an lovely addition to our rustic garden!

You could always bring nature indoors by making this Branch Curtain Rod posted at  DIY

or this Serving Platter posted at Design Sponge.

I am in love with the Twig Hanger posted at Econesting!

Picture Holders posted at Re-Nest but can you see a Christmas theme with cards? Oh my!

I’ll try to source out more nature crafts in the future. Until then, enjoy!
