I fell in love with his eyes…

and his bushy mane. LOL

I had the pleasure of meeting “Mudslide” a few weeks ago. The story of our meeting is a long sad one actually, but today I’ll focus on the good part. A bunch of us were walking down a lane to get to the photo I will put up in the next few days. And this miniature horse followed me the whole time. If I stopped, he did. I walked, he did. I don’t know much about horses, maybe he thought I had food.  But I’ll just continue to believe we made a “connection” because it makes me happy. :)

He is the most adorable little thing ever, with those huge eyes, and fluffy mane. I didn’t want to leave.

I posted 2 pictures over at my photo blog. One of him, and another of the both of us. I might be going back to see him in a few months. I can’t wait!

You can see them here. Just click the white arrow below the first photo to get to the other one.

Oh, Mudslide is the most adorable creature. It must have been hard to leave him! I’d be interested in more of the story of how you met him, if you feel you want to share it. I was excited (surprised) when you said you’d posted a photo of “both” of you! I see you managed to keep a great deal of your anonymity, LOL. Good for you! And congratulations on your photo blog!

LOL, Muse. I’ll post some one day (whenever one day comes) but that will be on my private or password protected page. I’ll let you know when I do. I don’t really like my photo to be taken. In 90% of pictures I have my hand up in front of the lens. :)

I will also post a bit about how we came to meet. But the whole story will also go on a private post. Just because it is personal to the people involved. (It’s a touching story to me. It was an honor to be there and there wasn’t a dry eye to be seen.)

Curious - I know! He’s just way too sweet. There was another miniature there too. But this one stole my heart. I’ll pop over on Friday to see your photo’s. :)

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Hi,
I know what you mean about the special encounter. We now have 4 1/2 miniatures that we fell in love with. They are like potato chips, you can’t just have one.
We do not run a Rehabilitation center, but nearly all of our animals are “Special Needs” We have two parrots, one with a severely deformed back, and another with non functioning legs. We have a female of the same species that is suffering terribly, or should I say making us suffer terribly, from “I’m the Queen bird and I claim this floor as mine and I will attack if you walk on it!” Ahhh Hormones.
We also have an insane Schnauzer, she’s one of those I’m my own Grandma types, an abandoned standard poodle and two Hell puppies, who were also abandoned for the most part in a barn when it was 50 below They are Hell puppies because they are hyperactive! The vet said they’d only be like this for the first seven years!
At any rate we also have mini horses. One black gelding, he’s my parade horse, one minimal dwarf bay gelding, a blue roan pinto mare, with a deformed hoof, a bay pinto dwarf mare, with several issues and lastly a dwarf appaloosa filly that we will pick up in September.
So the long of it is that you can be a “special friend” to our herd if you’d like. You can take virtual walks with them. I use them for therapy visits and school education, but I warn you they’re addictive.
PS I bead as well as other arts, and want to make a very blingy costume for my parade horse. I’m thinking beaded cabochans or the largest crystals I can find. Bling Bling!
    Have a great day.

PPS Yes you can make special connections with animals and their spirits and if they are gone, their spirit will still visit you.

Hi PonyBeadGirl. Thank you for sharing your story. What a wonderful thing you have done! I did just fall in love with this pony. Do you have a website? I’d love to see it.
Ohhhhh, I’d love to see the costume you come up with! Isn’t beading great? I’m so glad you came by. :)

    Have a great day too!

    HI back,
No I don’t have a website, on my wish list, and I’m not able to load pictures yet, but someday soon, I hope. I do love beading and all the other crafts. My main focus is spinning and knitting and oh yeah, beaded ornament covers. They are so awesome. I was all consumed by them last year, but was finally able to move on. Have fun with yours.
