Many of you who know me, know that I do not believe in the oil crisis. It is just too far-fetched to believe. The Caspian Sea, the Arctic just to mention a few. I have never bought into the story. I have also mentioned the fact that two oil rich Countries that were straying from trading oil from the American dollar to the Euro were Iraq and Iran. Hmmm…interesting, wouldn’t you say? The U.S economy is already on a downward spiral and this would crush the economy as you know it.
It’s a perplexing situtation we find ourselves in. I don’t think it is right to wage war and kill innocent people over this. Far too much devastation has already occured. But, no one wants to see the United States fall into ruins. This is where it is headed. So many Americans will suffer, and it will have a huge impact on Canada as well. What can be done? I don’t know. What would you do?
If we hadn’t gone half-cocked around the world with our fists first, causing crisis after crisis across the globe maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation now. If we had have engaged in dialogue, and went to other countries with well-meaning help and common good, instead of hidden agendas, trying to control, bankrupt, blackmail and lie, things would be different.
The thing is. We did do that. We can’t back track, we can’t change the facts. We have murdered innocent people, destroyed economies, used poorer nations, ignored human rights, abused, tortured, waged bogus wars, all in the name of money and power. To be the top dog. No one can stay on top forever. Knowing that, and realizing that times have changed, we should have been looking for other, peaceful ways to negotiate our needs. But we continued down the path of destruction. And we are not winning the battle.
We face a difficult time ahead. I don’t see any other outcome. The hard times are coming and we might as well face it. I don’t think there is a solution.
I wish nothing more than for someone to prove me wrong. Because the reality of the stituation scares me. It’s hard enough for the average person to get through life right now.
I know I have posted quite a few video clips this week. But after I watched this video called “The Energy Non-Crisis” over at The Invisible Opportunity it only confirmed what I have been talking about. If I could suggest one thing to explain the situation we are facing it would be this video. I know it is just over an hour long, but it will open your eyes to what is happening and why. It’s a chilling wake up call. If you ever wanted to know who “THEY” really are, watch this. If you wondered why politicians are afraid to speak out, watch this. If you want to know who really makes profit off the oil, watch this.
What do we do now? Do we continue to kill people across the globe, and our own sons or daughters, over this, knowing it is most likely a no-win situation. Do we just brace ourselves for a very hard crash and try to pick up the pieces after? Many people in North America will suffer with the loss of homes, jobs and well-being. Is there another option?
What do you think?
On a side note they also have this short clip that is full of interesting stats. Globalization and the Information Age - Shift Happens.

If you want to scare the oil companies to death - take oil off the commodities market.
July 3, 2008 at 4:27 am
It’s not the oil companies pulling the strings though.

I should have added to my article that had we focused more on our own countries, we would also not be in this situation. We could have spent all that energy, time and money to providing free education, higher learning, health care, manufacturing, and research into our own economy.
Going global has not helped the average person. Only big business. Had we remained protectionist, had we not sold our resources, had we kept government run companies, had we given jobs to our own companies in our own country, had we stayed focused on these things. We would not be hurting. We would not be in debt.
We should have been thinking about National interests, not bowing to the will of corporations and banks.
We lost what it meant to be a leader. Our leaders are not leaders, they are led. They are afraid. No one speaks out, no one is accountable, and those that try to reveal the truth, are quickly dealt with or ridiculed.
You know, the truth hurts. Time will always reveal it. I wish someone would get the ball rolling, get it over with and let’s deal with the outcome.
If nothing else, we have already proven how adaptable the human race is. We can pick up the pieces, we can carry on. If we have to start from the bottom and work our way up, we will do so, just as the generations before us have.

Thanks Kaylee

Two things: I agree with everything you’ve said here. We are in this together, and separatism and nationalism are no longer relevant.
I shall watch the one-hour video; can’t get to it quite yet, but did watch the short clip. Being the relentlessly optimistic soul I am, my reaction was “Wow, we live in fascinating times!” Terrific, informative clip, and their blog is really interesting, too. Thanks for the referral.

Bead - You know I don’t want you to tear your fingertips to shreds - but could you give me a brief on what you saw - to download an hour long video would take me two days - bad, bad dial-up I am on
July 3, 2008 at 7:14 am
Me, be brief? Are you kidding? LOL! I have a few days off and if you give me a bit I’ll watch it again and put it into a short form version ok? I just don’t want to mess up, I’d like to be sure what I write is accurate.

Muse, I love that site. Everyday you find the most interesting things. And if you have not yet read the “About” section there, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
July 3, 2008 at 8:31 am
Why you so chatty today?
July 3, 2008 at 8:35 am
LOL! Kaylee. I think it’s my new eating regimen. I have a few days off, I’m bursting with energy and I don’t know what else to do with myself.
I’m finally feeling my age instead of 20 years older! If this keeps up you’ll get tired of me.
July 3, 2008 at 10:49 am

Another interesting bit, when reading more on this subject, I came across people saying the guy is a quack because they are trying to get oil from the area right now. I sat and thought about it for a while.
It would make sense.
At the time, we thought things would work out for us in the Middle East, the oil would be traded using the American dollar and that in turn would cover the national debt.
As it stands, things are not working out in the ME, so where do we go to make up for the loss? What do we do? Allow drilling in the Arctic.
Another fantabulous article to read about our near future:
Something Big is Going On.
July 4, 2008 at 5:59 am
Ahhhhh - now I understand!
Not only Iran but other oil producing nations want to change to the Euro - the Euro is backed up by a different standard than the US dollar you see. So if the US dollar collapses that means that all the billions the Arab nations have now - are worthless.
With the Euro their (oil producers) billions would still be worth billions.

Here is another great article from the Asia Times.
Big Oil’s Secret Out of Iraq’s Closet
Scroll down to the part where it reads “Big Oil hardball” to catch my drift.
Oh btw, Will. Did you happen to read this?
Democrat Obama signals flexibility on Iraq
I tell you, Ron Paul is the man for the job. I like Obama. He’s a cutie pie, (not that I vote by looks) but I think Ron Paul had the guts and grit to get the U.S. back on track.
