Beaded Christmas Ornament Cover (Post 3)

Next steps (almost to the finish line!)

Written Instructions Part Four:

We left off bringing our needle through the bottom Accent bead of the last small loop we made.

Pick up one Bugle Bead (I used green), 1 red Accent, 1 Bugle, 1 Accent and 1 Bugle

Bring your needle through the same 1 red Accent bead you started at in the bottom of the loop. It should look something like this:

.X <—Red Accent Bead at bottom of small round circle form the last step.

Go back down through the same Diamond until and go through the bottom red Accent bead.

Pick up 1 Bugle, 1 Accent, 1 Bugle and 5 Accent Beads

That makes the fringe.

Make your way back up through the beads to reach the bottom Accent Bead of the next small round circle.

Repeat all steps until you finish back where you started. That’s it. Go through the 1 Red Accent Bead and tie a Surgeon’s knot.

Weave your way through a bunch of beads. Tie another knot and cut thread. Next: Remember the tail of thread from the start of your project? Thread your needle on the tail, weave your way through various beads, tie a knot you can thread through more beads if you want and the cut.

You can dab your knots with glue or clear nail polish. You may also want to hide them by gently pushing a bead over them. You are finished.

Don’t forget, you can always add any other touches you would like to this. More fringe, or add beaded designs.

Finished! Let’s tie off and have a look:

  1. Awww, I love how you said that was for you to Noni Joan! She is gonna love that! You keep saying it is a simple ornament cover but that was so much detailed work. But you are so good at it that you can scoop the beads right onto the needle to get what you need as you go. I meant to comment here earlier because I was watching the videos and something went wrong with my computer so I had to come back and finish watching later. The computer seems fine now though. Who knows what I did? Anyway, that is a lovely ornament cover and your fingernails are so nice!

  2. LOL, Teeni! I couldn’t help myself. It is way easier to scoop the beads up with the needle than using your fingers! As long as you have a nice little pile on the plate. My Mom told me to do it that way and she doesn’t even bead!

I hope everything is ok with your computer! I hate when they mess up. I used to be pretty good at fixing them, but that was back when. All this new stuff is just beyond me.

I’m glad you liked the ornament cover. Ha! My finger nails. I put nail polish on them for that! I rarely use it unless I go to a wedding or something special! The funny thing is, it is chipping and I have no remover! Now I have to get some. :)
