I happened upon this blogger who hosted a Dr.Seuss theme Baby Shower and was so impressed. One of the comments I read was something like Martha had better watch out.
I have to agree she did a wonderful job! Just check out some of her pictures:

Take a wander over to her site Newly Nesting to see more great ideas. She has a few other posts about the shower here and here.
Her whole site is fantastic!
Another great site for ideas and inspiration is StemParties
Just look at these photographs:

There is really no end to where you could go with this theme.
If children will be attending and you are having an adult keep them entertained. You could have someone read them Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Make ahead or have them make their own Oobleck to take home! Or just a small bit to pass around while the story is being read. For instructions go here.

I just love the ideas you can go with. Even though this one I found at Everyday Celebrating is a birthday party. Same thing applies. FUN!
CORRECTION UPDATE: Even though I found this post at Everyday Celebrating. The actual creation and idea is Natalie’s from Little Shindigs.
She let me know about it the other day and I feel pretty bad about her not getting credit where it is due. I went to her site, and find that she is a Children’s Event Organizer “dedicated to inspiring fabulous Children’s parties.” If you are planning a party make sure to stop by her site, It is awesome! Talk about inspiration!

Go crazy with your cake. With Dr.Seuss there can be no mistakes! This person knows how to make a cake! Check it out.:

Check out this diaper cake from L.A. Babycakes site:

Some great Dr. Seuss inspired recipes can be found here.

How about serving Pink Yink Ink Drinks? (You can add alcohol or not) Recipe found here.

Oh, and what about jello-shooters?
You could make Truffle trees from the fluffy garlands found at dollar stores (Just cut them up in pieces) and glue bits on the end of a pipe cleaner or chenille stem.

Oh my, this almost makes me want to attend a baby shower. Which I usually don’t like all that much.
Green eggs and ham! Too much! Cat in Hat; One fish, Two fish, I LOVED all those when I was a kid, and I imagine the new kid coming into the world will too!
Dr. Seuss is the best! I loved those books too, Muse. I love this so much I can’t wait for someone to get pregnant so I can try this one! Isn’t that awful?
Hint to some family members….;)
Sarah loved this idea for a baby shower. Thanks so much for the ideas. I know we will be using a lot of them. I’ll take lots of photos.
I LOVE the Dr Seuss theme. the only problem with not planning my own shower is I don’t get to come up with all the fun ideas….oh well I’m sure they’ll do a great job whatever they do. Great post!
((((Joan and Sarah)))) I am so glad you like the idea! I am also now officially jealous. I want to throw one! LOL!
I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Can I feature it here?
Congrats to both of you!
Thanks for dropping by Sarah
I love this idea for Dr. Seuss baby shower! My sisters and I used to love decorating with themes for any parties that were coming up. This would be a blast. I see you got Joan and Sarah looking! I hope they can use some of the ideas they found through you.
Thanks, Teeni! I’ll admit I like my themes. After my Christmas posts, I’m sure you know that. LOL!
I want someone, anyone, I know to get pregnant so that I can throw one. What a blast it would be.
I can’t wait to see what they come up with. The good thing is, we know we’ll get to see it!
Hi,
First time here. Your blog is GREAT and I am abig Fan of Dr.Seuss but I must tell you that two images shown here are actually mine (little shindigs) and not Everyday Celebrating. Michelle was kind enough to feature one of my parties on her blog and although I am flattered you used them I would appreciate it if you could make the correction on your post. Please feel free to contact me with any questions:)
Natalie
I am so sorry to have made that mistake, Natalie. I do try to give credit where credit is due. (It’s important)
I’ll make the corrections ASAP. Thanks for being nice about it too!
By the way, what you did with the Dr.Seuss party was just stunning! I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. Thank you for sharing you ideas with the rest of us!
Thank you for taking the time to make the correction:)
and don’t worry about it..like I said, I am flattered.
I will look forward to following your blog. Take Care & Party on!!!!
Natalie, I’d rather switch it and the link to your post. I noticed you didn’t have a search box or I would have looked it up and done so.
Do you remember the month and year it was posted? Or have a link handy to that one so I can change it to yours? I get a load of hits here for this post and I much rather the click go to the actual designer.
Let me know. Thanks.
I am doing a ladies’ luncheon this summer for my soon-to-be baby. We’ve opted out of the traditional baby shower (i.e. I’m throwing it myself, no opening gifts, no games, etc.). I need help with more recipe ideas! I’ve searched and searched. I’m going to do the green deviled eggs and ‘pink yink ink’. How should I incorporate the ham (green eyes and ham)? I thought about little ham sandwiches or just a ham, in general. I’m a very picky eater so some things just don’t sound appetizing. PLEASE HELP!
Hi Jessica. Sorry to have been so late in getting back to you.Anything ham would do. I did leave a recipe link in the post. I hope you might find something there to help.
