Fairy Houses and Gardens

We are thinking of making a Fairy Themed area in my back lot for next summer and mentioned it over at LibraryThing. A wonderful person there mentioned a few books I should look at for ideas and I can’t thank her enough. We ordered Fairy Houses…Everywhere and Fairy Houses and Beyond by Barry and Tracy Kane from our local library.

They were full of inspirational pictures. Not only that, they have a website where you can find more ideas or purchase their books.

Of course, we couldn’t write a post on Fairy Houses without some Free DIY Projects and ideas, could we?

Making Your Own Fairy Garden

Bright Ideas: Build a Fairy House

Haute Nature has a lovely house here.

A house wouldn’t be complete without a Fairy Bed.

Whimsical Fairy Garden (a Store for people who would rather purchase. Great pictures for ideas too!)

Fairy Realms (what Fairies really want)

Fairy House Mushroom Garden

Fairy Houses and Accessories

Another great idea. Fairy Houses tucked into a hill.

  1. The book in your photograph is the one I have. My daughter got it for me for Christmas. I have a lot of books on Faeries. I Know they don’t really exist but even at my age I like to pretend. I will check out your other links though. I love DIY Faerie stuff and now that Lilah is getting older we can do those things together.

    • I laughed when Mom suggested creating a fairy garden. Not something I would have done. I’m anal that way. My gardens used to be rectangles, everything in neat rows. Everything linear.

Now, anything goes. I’ll admit, I’m still trying to relax about it all. Oh well, life is all about compromise!

I think the garden will be fun to do though. :)

That book is so cool! We ordered in a bunch of the through our library last year and had a blast making plans! Hope you and Lilah have a blast playing.

My Mom believes in faeries, no joking. I thought she was kidding.
