Busy Week…

I’m going to be busy for the next week or so. Posting might be a little light. I will try to keep up on my reading though. But I’d hate to leave you empty handed so I’ll leave some interesting links to sites and headlines.

Quick Post Before I Nod Off

I was over at What Really Happened and found this:

13 Things That Do Not Make Sense. It’s very interesting, I think you will like it.

Just a few headlines in the news:

Liberals Slam Harper Aide’s Plum Appointment.

This guy is going to be the executive director of the new Alberta-based Canada School of Energy and the Environment. they were given $15 million from the government. This same person was disbarred and jailed for defrauding law clients!

I know this is old news, but for those of you who don’t know. You really should check this out:

North American Army Created Without OK By Congress

Guess What? Military Funds Mind-Reading Science.

Why? To translate the thoughts of soldiers with brain injuries or stroke patients in hospitals. Ummmm…..yeah sure.

Funnel Cloud Video…

It looks pretty crappy. I don’t know why. On my camera and the movie I did with “movie maker” it is great quality. Oh well.

I say “Oh my G*D” twice! I don’t like doing that and I appologize. I always thought I’d run and warn people in a situation like that. I didn’t. I just stood there waiting to see where it was headed. I’m definately not someone to count on in this type of situation! I freeze.

Here it is:

Some still shots:

They are calling this a water spout. Whatever that is…it makes it sound so cushy and cute. Look, it’s a tiny water spout! To me, it was a freaking tornado! Thank you.

I Found This Very Interesting.

I was reading a metal detecting forum and stumbled across this.

It was found in the Philippines.  Would I ever like to know the story behind it. I have a few ideas of my own.

Make sure to read the comments.

It’s a nifty find. It would be even better with the story behind it.

God…If You Are Listening…

Please let this boat get through to help the victims of this mass land grab and inhumane treatment.  Innocent people who are being collectively punished before our very eyes. The whole world watches and keeps silent. World leaders ignore this knowing that it is wrong. Knowing that people are dying. Crops destroyed, homes bulldozed. Basic needs are being blocked. We are all guilty for not speaking out. We should be ashamed.

If they were white Christians there would be an uproar. But they are Palestinians. And no one listens. Leaders don’t care, a Palestinian isn’t going to get them a vote.

There is a one Government and a group of people here willing to do something. So, watch over them. I think they will need you.

The Free Gaza Movement. From Cyprus to Gaza. The world will be watching and you can too. Spread the word. Keep updated. Keep watching. The more people that know, the more likely they will succeed.

I have a Question…

I saw this  headline over at What Really Happened today:

Botched Sting: Killed With Gun She Was Supposed To Buy

It tells of a student working with the police on a sting operation. She was supposed to buy a gun. Somehow the police lost contact with her and they found her dead a few days later.

What it does say is that the gun that had killed her was traced to the one she was supposed to buy. Not the same make or model. The gun itself. How do they know the exact gun she was supposed to buy?

And why are they using someone who is in a treatment program, someone ordered to stay away from drugs, in a sting? Using an untrained student, sending her out after two dangerous men? And the police have taken no blame? Shouldn’t the public be protected from this type of practice? There ought to be a law…

I Was Going To Share Some Stories…

I have so many things to write about this week, things I learned these past few weeks talking with other people, but I have been so busy and want to put a bit of effort into them. Last week-end I had five houseguests! It was nice, but I don’t own a dishwasher and I felt like that is all I did! LOL! Poor me. No, actually I had a very nice time. Busy but enjoyable.

This week has been so hot and humid and I am just about toast when I get home. So, instead of writing a puff piece, I’m just going to share some headlines I have collected. Mostly to preserve them for myself and maybe someone out there might be interested in them.  :)

Death By A Thousand Cuts

The Conservative Government has been so intent on killing the Wheat Board. What is behind this? Have an opinion? I do. Can you guess what I think?

British Columbia Sets Land Sale Record on Natural Gas Project.

This article tells of Native students in Canada are taking their plight to the UN. In 1979 there was a diesel spill on the land and that caused students and teachers to get sick they had been promised a new school since the year 2000, of course, it’s still just talk, no action. Sound familiar?

Regina is going to get a warehouse, not just any warehouse, think big…think trade corridor big.

(I seem to recall saying there would be lots of low wage warehouse jobs in the near future) ESP or what? LOL!

Feds might let 11 lakes and rivers become toxic waste dumps for big business. You know, because it saves them money. Who cares about the environment right?

It’s so nice that the Government has had a huge windfall of money from high fuel prices. CEO’s offer opinions on how they should best spend this (your) money.

A video. Truth or Not? Anyone in the know here?

Enjoy!
